The Loddon was on fire this weekend or rather Sunday morning at first light.
I missed a big yellow belly twice, It swirled just under my fly but was a bit shy and did not try and take it. I immediately swapped to my frog pattern (as shown at the meeting) and kept fishing. I had a surface strike on the next piece of structure I fished landing this cod. He snagged me instantly but I kept the pressure on him while I finned towards the snag and got him out. I released him and kept fishing the rest of the snag to have a swirl under my fly which turned into a hit/weight/loss the next cast. I had another swirl and take but missed it the next snag I fished, All the action had stopped by 8am and I was back at camp by 9am.
Cheers, Ben.
